Fourth Program Overview:

The program begins in Esna and travels 150 km down the Nile River to the famous city of Aswan. You will spend 4 nights on the river, stopping along some of Egypt’s most historic sites along the way. On the final day, you will experience a day in the life of the native Nubian people, explore the great Temple of the Nobles, enjoy a sunset camel ride along the mountain Qubbet el-Hawa, and sleep in the local Nubian Kingdom Aragheed House.

Vessel: The cruise takes place on a luxurious Dahabiya Boat. Enjoy the cruise in a leisurely, comfortable style with all meals served on board.

Length: Four nights cruising the Nile River, and one night at the Nubian Kingdom Aragheed House.

Schedule: Weekly departures every Friday from Esna to Aswan. The cruise will stop at historical sites along the way and you will be immersed in the local village culture. On the final evening, enjoy a stay at the unique Nubian Kingdom Aragheen House where you will experience the local communal culture.

Daily Itinerary:

Day 1 – Depart from the Golden Gate and head to the Temple of Esna, journeying to the Cape tombs, and arriving in the city of Edfu.

Day 2 – Visit the beautifully preserved Temple of Horus located in Edfu. The Temple of Horus is the second largest temple in ancient Egypt, after the Karnak Temple of Luxor. After exploration, depart towards the great Temple of Kom Ombo.

Day 3 – Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo and Daraw and experience the famous last stop of camel traders arriving from Sudan. Along the way, experience the great views and sights of the Red Sea mountains. The boat will then depart towards the Kingdom of Nubia where you will visit the highest point in Aswan – Mount Abu El Hawa.

Day 4 – Visit the Nubian Museum and Philae Temple and return to lunch on the Dahabeya. After lunch, enjoy a camel ride through the desert to the tombs of Al-Naba and the Monastery of Anba Samaan. At sunset, experience the famous views of Aswan atop Mount Abu Al-Hawa. During the evening, you will visit the Nubian Kingdom Aragheed House for dinner and enjoy the traditional coffee, music, and talk about local Nubian village.
